Attorney Petrova attended the national meeting of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association in Washington, D.C. from May 5 through May 7th. The May Meeting was an excellent opportunity to hear from top tax attorneys on hot topics and learn about the government’s perspectives. Among the areas covered were partnership tax developments, international tax for cross-border investments, disclosure of undisclosed foreign assets, tax controversy, and tax planning for business sales and purchases.
At this annual ABA meeting, the nation’s leading tax practitioners come together to discuss current issues, topics and legislation. Tax lawyers in private practice learn about the latest developments, strategies and techniques in their areas of practice.
Ms. Petrova was honored to join the Committee on Closely Held Businesses, where she could guide policy making that directly affects her clients. She also had an opportunity to engage in a dialogue with officials from the Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service on some of the most important tax issues of the day.
